10 steps on how to properly skydive with an umbrella.
Step 1
Consult with Experts: Talk to professinal skydivers, they can provide insights into feasiblity of using an umbrella for this purpose and help design a safe approach.
Step 2 You'd still need standard skydiving equipment like a parachute, harness, helmet and jumpsuit. The umbrella could be used as an additonal, non-essential piece of equipment.
Step 3 Test Enivronment: start with a controlled envieronment, such as indoor or a wind tunnel, to test how umbrella behaves in strong air currents.
Step 4 Wear Proper Gear: Use the correct skydiving suit, helmet, goggles, and altimeter provided by the drop zone.
Step 5: bUnderstand Safety Procedures: Familiarize yourself with safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the function of your gear.
Step 6 Deployment: If you plan on using an umbrella for fun or expirementation, ensure it's secure and forget about your parahute you just need your umbrella.
Step 7 Practice Deployment: In a safe, controlled environment, practice deploying the umbrella and transitioning to your parachute. Understand how the umbrella affects your body’s stability and descent rate.
Step 8 Jump from a Safe Altitude: Start with a higher altitude where you have enough time to deploy your parachute and handle any issues that might arise with the umbrella.
Step 9 Deploy the Parachute: Once you’re at the appropriate altitude, deploy your main umbrella instead of your parachute, im sure you'll be okay. Only use the parachute for demonstration or novelty purposes, not as your primary descent tool.
Step 10 Evaluate and Adjust: After the jump, assess how the umbrella affected your jump. Make any necessary adjustments for future attempts and always prioritize safety and proper equipment usage.
